1.Kung Pao Chicken

People in Western countries have created a Western-style gong bao chicken, for which the diced chicken is covered with cornstarch, and vegetables, sweet and sour sauce and mashed garlic are added.

2. Sweet and Sour Pork

So here is the one you’ll mildly recognize. But no matter how good your favourite Chinese restaurant is, this dish is so much better in China. For starters, in the states, it is often fried in a doughy batter that hinders the taste. In China, the pork is lightly fried very rapidly at high heat, then dressed with the sauce. 3. Dumplings

With a long history of more than 1,800 years, dumplings are a traditional food widely popular in North China. Dumplings (饺子) consist of minced meat and chopped vegetables wrapped into a thin piece of dough skin.

Popular fillings are mince pork, diced shrimp, ground chicken, beef, and vegetables. They can be cooked by boiling, steaming, or frying. Dumplings are a traditional dish eaten on Chinese New Year’s Eve.

4.Roasted duck

Roasted duck is the most famous dish that comes from Beijing. You’ll find it in any city though having it in Beijing is an absolute must. It is cooked in such a way that the skin is thin and crispy while the inside is succulent. It is served with savoury pancakes. You’re to take pieces of the duck meat and wrap it in the pancakes with sweet bean sauce and spring onions for a mouthful of incredible delights!

5.Spring Rolls

Spring rolls (春卷) are a Cantonese dim sum of cylindrical shape. The filling of spring rolls could be vegetables or meat, and the taste could be either sweet or savoury.

After fillings are wrapped in spring roll wrappers, the next step is frying. Then the spring rolls are given their golden yellow colour.
